Boston-based Kathak dancer, Apekshya Panda, began her training in Kathak at the age of three with gurus from the Bhatkhande Institute in Lucknow. She spent a decade learning and teaching with Guru Rita Mustaphi at Katha Dance Theatre in Minneapolis, where she went on to become a member of the professional company.

Apekshya is trained in the Lucknow gharana style of Kathak and has had the opportunity to study under the late Padmavibhushan Pandit Birju Maharajji over the years. After attending MIT for her undergraduate studies, she has now made Cambridge, Massachusetts her home and teaches and performs around the greater Boston area.
